At letpads we have been renting houses to students in Preston for years. We know exactly what students want when they are looking for their student accommodation in Preston. But with this knowledge in mind we also know that food is hugely important to students. Whether it’s drunk or sobor every student wants to know where they can get a decent bite at a bargain price.
So after speaking to our students we have put some of the best recommendations below so you can then decide for yourself where to eat, depending on whatever mood you are in. Close to uclan you have the obvious sauce bar at the uclan students union and just opposite that on Fylde road is subway and dexters chicken. Further down the road from there towards foster building and student I you have ships and giggles and also Adelphi. Close to Adelphi you have the 3 monkeys which is a small place where you can just grab and get a bite to eat. Ideal if you got to put the work in at the uclan library but don’t forget the equator cafe which is opposite the library too.
If you venture across the famous Adelphi roundabout onto friargate you have the coffee shop on the corner. Then up from there you have scoffs sandwich shop and next door to that you have Thai Royal which is open in the day and into the night. Next door to that you have pizza city which students tell us is great for a delivery too, very quick and consistent. Across from here you have cocos soul food which does eat in and takeout. If you venture further up towards Preston city centre you have Jaffa which is again an eat in or take out place serving Turkish kebabs etc. Nearby here you have an abundance of other shops not forgetting further down again one of Preston’s first ever kebab shops naked Zagros. The original owner also still runs it and it still has the same customers coming in from well over 20 years ago wow. From there it’s the city centre you are hitting which leaves the door wide open.
You have McDonalds, kfc, Costa, Starbucks, mocha, subways, greggs, greenhalghs and many many more. But don’t forget on the famous flag market there is Preston’s famous potato men, where you can get freshly cooked potatoes with all sorts of fillings available. Close to here you have the famous market street chippy which opens till the early hours of the morning taking in the crowds from cameo and lava ignite to name a few of the late venues. If you get to the newly opened wetherspoons pub the twelve tellers there are literally dozens of food outlets here.
