Opening for the first student intake in September, the brand new Vet School at The University of Central Lancashire is the first in Lancashire and only the 11th in England. If you’re thinking about attending in the nest academic year, you’ll be pleased to note that there is a free event this month at Myerscough College.
The free talk, Veterinary Education for the Next Generation, will be hosted on the 26th January and will be jointly presented by UCLan’s Dr Heather Bacon, Senior Clinical Veterinary Lecturer, and Claire Bloor, Head of Veterinary Nursing at Myerscough’s University Centre.
The brand new Veterinary School is based at UCLan’s Preston Campus and will be delivering foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses for aspiring vets and behaviourists, in collaboration with local veterinary partners and Myerscough College. This will provide in depth courses for veterinary medicine, bioveterinary science, veterinary clinical practice, veterinary physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and clinical animal behaviour and training.
The talk on the 26th will explore challenges and issues within the veterinary field, especially veterinary education, while exploring the new veterinary curriculum that will be integrated and skills based. Arrivals are from 5.30pm, with the presentation at 6.00pm at Myerscough’s Bowland Suite.
