Diwali, the festival of light, is the biggest celebration in the calendar for many Hindus, Sikhs and Jains. Diwali is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world and is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.
Families decorate their porches with flower garlands and light candles and fireworks to bring in the new year.
This year Diwali falls on Monday 24th October and the Hindu new year is on Wednesday 26th October. If you’re wondering where the nearest Hindu or Sikh temple, look no further.
