Now that you’re into the full swing of university life, you may be on a mission to find places to visit and eat. Preston has the usual chain pubs selling cheap and cheerful 2-4-1 deals. Smile café on plungington road, is a cute little café within a walking distance of the university, offering sandwiches, Breakfast, cakes and noodle soup. Sit inside in the small courtyard, which is super cute.

Town house Coffee and Brew Bar on friargate, a homely little place that makes people want to sit in a corner bundled up in a hoddie and read a book.

Coco’s Soul Food on friargate, located at the end of the road. This is a family run business and has some soul food favourites such as goat curry, Cajun chicken and lamp chops. The décor is colourful and pretty casual.

Rana Spice on file road, if you’re looking for an Indian vegetarian option then this is your place. Carnivores, don’t let the lack of meat on offer here stop you from visiting this fantastic take away with a eat-in area. Serving “pure Indian Vegetarian and vegan food”

If you’re in a need of a coffee and a doughnut then Holy Grounds is inspired by the pacific Northwest in America. Serving great coffee and fresh doughnuts made from 100% natural ingredients. The perfect place to grab a bru and a doughnut for a walk around the park.

Rise is a super stylish breakfast and brunch bar in the historic Miller Arcade. Great coffee, buzzing atmosphere and fresh, creative lunches and brunches. Walk in table only, but they also serve take away food and drink.

Kimji Korean Restaurant on Winkley street serving healthy, traditional, fresh Korean food. An intimate setting with a cult local following. It would be wise to book ahead. A great spot to start your night with plenty of great bars located on the same street.
