Here at LetPads we have 30 years of local, Preston based, knowledge. However, we know how daunting and difficult it can be when moving to a new place. So, how can you explore Preston for yourself? And how will you know how to spend your free time? Well, here at LetPads, we have produced a handy guide.
Have a wander
Here in Preston, things are pretty close together. This makes it a perfect city to navigate on foot. From great pubs and restaurants, to shops, museums and parks, everything is in walking distance from your new university. As a result, all of our student accommodation is also just a short walk away from the city centre itself. This makes it super convenient and will help you begin to feel at home in no time.
In addition, walking everywhere is great for the environment, and amazing for your bank balance. Why rely on a bus service when you could put that money towards a drink with new found friends?
Have a pedal
Preston is a bike friendly city. In fact, it’s so committed to cycling that it has a 21-mile cycling route, called the Guild Wheel, specifically designed to allow cyclists to take in some of the greenery and views that Preston has to offer. A great way to explore your new home, cycling will keep you fit and have you feeling like a local in no time.
Immerse yourself in culture
Exploring a city isn’t all about learning your way around. It’s equally important to feel like you know a bit about the place. Preston has a wealth of cultural history. From its involvement in the civil war, to the Victorian strikes (covered by Dickens himself), Preston is a city about which there is a lot to discover. Why not pop into the Harris museum and art gallery, or take a look at the Museum of Lancashire. Both of these are easily found and within walking distance from all of the university buildings as, well as our student accommodation.
In summary
Your new student accommodation is only part of your new home. The city surrounding you is also something you will need to explore. Thankfully, the centre of Preston is easily navigated on both foot and by bicycle. As all of your university buildings are centrally situated, so is our student accommodation. At LetPads we know how important it is to feel at home. If you are looking for student accommodation in Preston, why not contact us today?
