Here at Let Pads, we are Preston’s leading student accommodation providers, and we know how hard it can be for students to manage a small budget, and still enjoy Christmas And most of the fun at this time of year is found in giving gifts to those we care about. But when you’re strapped for cash, what can you do? Well, this is our guide to reducing the cost of Christmas for students.

Reducing the cost of Christmas for students

So how can you make sure you have something to give this Christmas? Well, there are plenty of ways to make this Christmas special, even on a student budget. Why not consider:

  • Making homemade food- from Christmas cookies and gingerbread men to jams and chutney, making homemade food for your friends and family can be cost effective. And it also has a personal touch which will show how much you really care about them.
  • Secret Santa- if you have a group of friends, or a larger family, why not consider setting up a secret Santa? That way you will only need to buy one gift, instead of a gift for each person, and everyone will have something of equal value to enjoy. This can also mean you will put more thought into the gift, which is what Christmas is all about.
  • Save money on food and drink- if you have a tight budget, making small adjustments to how you spend your money can help squeeze an extra few pounds into your Christmas gifting fund. Choose cheaper food options for this weeks food shop, including wonky veg boxes, and last chance food deals to save a little extra.

Here at Let Pads, we hope you all have a lovely December, with plenty of events available to enjoy across Preston.
