At this time of year, making decisions about your accommodation for the next academic year is essential. You will need to choose a few properties to visit, and make arrangements for viewing. But there are some considerations you will need to take into account as well. Here at Let Pads, we are Preston’s leading accommodation providers. As a result, we have produced this guide to the most important considerations when choosing your new student accommodation.
What are the important considerations when choosing your new student accommodation?
So, what do you need to consider, before choosing your new accommodation? Well, there are several things to bear in mind, including:
- The amount of bedrooms- you will need to decide early on, how many people to live with, and how many bedrooms your property will need. This is important as with many student accommodation properties, each student will pay for their room. So if you have too many rooms, and not enough students, you could be seriously out of pocket.
- The location of the property- where do you want to be situated? Most students want to be near the university campus, and the City Centre. And at Let Pads, all of our properties have a central location, so that university and the City, are only a short walk away.
- The budget- if you and your flatmates are on a tight budget, you should consider looking at properties that will suit what you can afford. Don’t overstretch as this could leave you in financial difficulty in the future. Properties with included bills and WiFi tend to work out cheaper than those that do not include bills. So you will also need to factor this into your considerations.
- The landlord or company- try and suss out some information about the landlord or company before you visit a property. This will help rule out any potential fraudsters or landlords with a bad reputation.
