Community
The first thing you’ll really experience about Preston, and studying at UCLAN, is that there is a strong sense of community. The university campus is only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Preston, and the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s also a city that caters for it’s 30000 student population in the form of affordable cafe’s, restaurants, bars, and shops. As well as a calendar full of cultural events and celebrations spread out across the year.
Socialising
Not only does Preston offer a huge number of bars and restaurants, and plenty of places to go and meet new people, UCLAN student union is also pretty awesome too. The Source Bar in the student union is open daily, serving food and drink, as well as showing live sports, and offering events It can be a great place to meet new people.
There are also plenty of live music venues across Preston, with bigger bands performing at the Guild Hall. Just check out Skiddle, if you want to find out more about the upcoming acts.
Sports
If sports is more your thing, why not check out UCLAN Sports Arena, and find out which UCLAN teams you could be looking to join. With a shuttle bus from the Student Union, all you need is a sports membership card. Offering cricket to netball, football, rugby and athletics, and much more, there is something for everyone.
