With the Christmas holidays long gone, and the Easter holidays fast approaching, it’s often a hectic time of year for students. From final deadlines, projects and assignments, not to mention exam revision, studying is currently top priority. Here at LetPads in Preston, we know how you feel . As a result, we have produced this guide to study locations.
Avoid the Distractions
Although student accommodation provided by us here in Preston has unlimited access to Wifi, we know its not always easy to work at home. Distracting roommates, Netflix and box-sets, not to mention the consoles we provide, working from your room can be a challenge. As a result, we suggest that you find a new way of working. Get away from the inside distractions and you’ll be a lot more productive.
Co-Working spots
Growing in popularity across the UK, co-working offices are a great place to be productive. In Preston, you can head down to the Docklands, Albert Edward House, and work in a flexible and affordable place. With reliable wifi, and other focused people, co-working locations are a lot more productive than coffee shops.
Get outside
With so many health benefits, getting outside can boost your focus and concentration. An uninspired assignment that has you sighing from boredom, can become the best piece of work you’ve submitted all year, if you get outside and unlock your creativity.
Laptops, tablets and smartphones are portable for a reason. Take one with you for a walk through Avenham or Miller Park and you’ll be surprised at how many new ideas you can gain. By having your tech there with you, you can edit and journal your ideas as you go, to avoid losing all that creative genius.
Alternatively, if you’re in need of a tech break, take out your course book and have a seat in the fresh air. You’ll be able to revise and get a new perspective without being distracted.
Head to the library
UCLAN library might be full of students, but there’s always friendly faces, easy access to resources, and of course the option to book out a study pod for some quiet work.
Libraries are naturally quiet places, full of people working hard. As a result, the productivity is naturally kicking around for you to pick up on.
If you don’t fancy bumping into your classmates and becoming distracted, why not head down to the Harris Library. Located on the bottom floor of the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, the Harris Library has computers, wifi and work-spaces. Everything you need to concentrate on those deadlines. It’s also a really cool place to visit and learn more about the history of Preston. Such beautiful surroundings are almost guaranteed to help inspire you.
