The University of Central Lancashire has applied for further planning permission for the Adelphi Square development. This development has been part of a £200 million campus master plan that has already seen the creation of a stunning, new £60 million student centre. With such investment in the campus, UCLan is committed to looking to the future, not only of the university itself but also to the community on the whole.

As work on the Adelphi Square development is nearing completion, UCLan have submitted an application for works covering an area of more than 3,000 sq m, extending from St. Peter’s Arts Centre to the Victoria building.

Speaking for the university, a spokesperson has confirmed:

“The extended public realm application works seek to create an upgraded and more accessible ‘Central Spine’ walkway between the new Student Centre building and Victoria building, using the same quality granite material as the adjacent Masterplan works for consistency. The project will also provide a more functional and more attractive small events space between St Peter’s Arts Centre and the Students’ Union building.”

This development is aiming to create and attractive and liner route connecting a number of UCLan campus buildings including the Arts Centre, Library, Student’s Union, Adelphi Building, and Victoria Building. This will also include the creation of a new public square next to the St. Peter’s Arts Centre, creating a level area for events.

There’s no doubt that UCLan is a world leading university, and these new development will serve to make the campus reflect the quality of the teaching and learning provided.
