With Christmas fast approaching, you might be wondering what festive activities you can take part in this year. Preston has already seen the light switch on, and is looking magical, and there are other events planned in the city. But for UCLan students in particular, what can you get involved in to build your festive spirit this year? Well, there are plenty of UCLan festive events organised by the Student Union.
Unmissable UCLan festive events 2024
- Holiday cards and candy canes handout- On Monday the 9th of December you should keep an eye out across campus for people handing out holiday cards and candy canes, spreading some festive cheer! Why not get involved yourself?
- Festive film and gingerbread decorating- On Monday the 9th of December, from 12pm-3pm, in the Students’ Union you can enjoy gingerbread decorating and a Christmas movie with friends in a relaxing environment. The perfect way to kick off the season.
- Globe Christmas Party- Fancy something more energetic? Well also on Monday the 9th of December, from 7pm-9pm is the Globe Christmas Party, hosted at All Saints Church, Elizabeth Street. This is open for all students, and international students, and it can be the perfect event to meet new people from all cultures.
- Christmas Strangled Cats Karaoke- Later that evening, on Monday the 9th of December from 8pm-11pm is karaoke night at the Lampworks. Come and belt out some Christmas classics and enjoy a proper sing-along.
- Mini Festive Market- On Tuesday the 10th of December, from 10am to 4pm, you can find a Mini Festive Market at the Students’ Union Cafe, perfect for last minute present buying, and getting in the Christmas spirit.
- Christmas Jumper Day- On Thursday the 12th of December, from 11am to 11pm, Lampworks are offering 20% off for anyone who is wearing a Christmas jumper, or who can show they have donated to the charity! So why not grab yourself a treat for lunch, dinner or drinks, and make the most of the festive menu.
- Holly Jolly Quiz- Also on Thursday the 12th of December, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, there will be Carollers, along with free mince pies and hot chocolate, at the Students’ Union Cafe, and the Student Union President’s Holly Jolly Quiz will start from 6pm.
